Expedition leader Ben Webster visits Kathmandu, Nepal, a launching pad for Himalayan climbers since the days of Edmund Hillary.
Kathmandu is the capital and largest city in Nepal with one million inhabitants. The name comes from two Sanskrit words- Kanti and pur. "Kanti" is an alternate name of the Goddess Lakshmi, and "pur" means place.
Over half a million foreigners visit Kathmandu yearly. Tourism is one of Nepal's most important industries.
