Leanne Rowat (PC)
This riding has existed since the 1988 election. It has been PC since 1959. The riding is in southwest Manitoba, surrounding Brandon. Minnedosa is the largest community. Other communities in the riding include Souris, Rivers, Rapid City, Shilo and Wawanesa.The population in 2001 was 18,055. The average family income was $53,773, with an unemployment rate of 3.4 per cent. The major industry was agriculture (21%) followed by health and social services (12.6%).
