Riding Profile:

This riding his existed since the 1981 election and has always been PC. The riding is in the western part of Winnipeg and runs from the Assiniboine River in the south to Portage Ave./Vimy Road/Ness Ave. in the north. The western boundary is the city limit and the eastern boundary is Moray St./Portage Ave./Vernon Road. The St. Charles and Glendale country clubs and the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Assumption Cemetery are in this riding.

The population in 2001 was 19,980. The average family income was $73,801, with an unemployment rate of 4.7 per cent. The main industry was health and social services (13.8%) followed by retail (12.5%).
