Denis Rocan (PC)
This riding was created in 1999. It's located in southwest Manitoba. Communities in the riding include Carman, Somerset, Treherne, St. Claude, Notre Dame de Lourdes, Miami, and Elm Creek. The Long Plain and Dakota Plains reserves are in the northwest corner, and the Swan Lake reserve is in the southwest corner. Spruce Woods Provincial Park forms part of the western boundary.The population in 2001 was 18,680. The average family income was $52,146, with an unemployment rate of 4.2 per cent. The major industry was agriculture (32%) followed by health and social services (12%).

|1977, 1973, 1969||PC James Ferguson elected. In 1969, he defeated incumbent LIB Nelson Shoemaker (who had been elected in 1958, 1959, 1962, 1966) by 417 votes.|
