Hello, my name is Arik Sigvaldason. I am currently in the process
of graduating with a Master's Degree in Economics from the University
of Manitoba. So what will it take for me to stay put in Manitoba;
in short, a job. However finding a level of employment in the
area of finance and economics is not so easy in a province that
lacks opportunities in this area. Looking for jobs over the internet
and through the papers has shown me that Manitoba is virtually
'stagnant' when it comes to opportunities in economics. If I go
to any site and search the careers section not much 'pops' up
when searching under the location of Manitoba. Like many others
I too feel I will soon be leaving for the provinces of Ontario
or Alberta. Creating part-time and low-skill jobs is not a solution
to keeping students within Manitoba. |
