The Winnipeg Trolley Company
began guided city tours on July 25. The trolley is a replica of a
Winnipeg streetcar circa 1921 and runs almost daily from The Forks.
And while a regular tour is fun enough, trolley riders will get an extra
theatrical element on three Sundays this summer, July 29, August 12 and
September 2. That's because a play called Sam's Spiel
by Danny Schur will be performed right on the trolley. It's a
historical drama about a photographer named Samuel Lockhardt who took
pictures during the Winnipeg General Strike.
Schur says you'll be
transported back to that fateful day, Bloody Sunday.
You can be part of the action on the trolley Sunday at noon at the Travel Manitoba building at The Forks. For tickets - and
they DO sell out - call 697-7064.
