"It's so exciting to be able to pitch in front of a hometown crowd and be so welcome and ultimately rewarded for your efforts. It's unbelievable!"

Winnipeg producer Angela Heck is the winner of the 2012 MTS Winnipeg On Demand $20 thousand Pitch! contest.
On Tuesday night, March 20, Heck beat out nine other finalists in this film-pitching contest with her pitch for Buzz (Manitoba Mosquitos). Each contestant had three minutes to pitch their Manitoba-based concepts in front of a full house at the Fairmont Winnipeg.
"This is really overwhelming! It sounds trite but you really do dream about this" said Heck upon winning the big cheque. "It's so exciting to be able to pitch in front of a hometown crowd and be so welcome and ultimately rewarded for your efforts. It's unbelievable!"
The event was judged by Super Channel's Maureen Levitt, MTS TV's Kim Bell and APTN's Danielle Audette, who ultimately awarded Heck with the $20 thousand licence fee with MTS Winnipeg On Demand. Heck's Buzz proposes to examine how the mosquito influences culture in Manitoba.
The other finalists included Don Marks (Behind in the Count), Alf Kollinger (100 Years of Speed and Daring), Bruce Claydon (Haunted Winnipeg), Raymond Friesen (Indie 2 - Behind Indie Game: The Movie), Jonathan Lê (Filipino Social), Danielle Sturk (Kyden in 10 Movements), Conrad Sweatman (Town Without Poverty), Geoff Banjavich (Jose - A Piano Impresario's Journey) and Taavo Soodor (MurderPeg).
This was the second time for the MTS Winnipeg On Demand Pitch! contest. The 2010 winner was Tina Keeper and Jaime Black for REDress REdress.
