The mosque traveled on both rivers and roads up to Inuvik (Snow Angel Films)
The story of the Winnipeg built Mosque that found its way up to the Arctic grabbed both national and international attention. Now it is being made into a documentary by Winnipeg filmmakers Saira and Nilufer Rahman.
Currently in post production -- involving the unenviable task of going through some 120 hours of footage -- Nilufer and Saira are slowly putting together the story for a co-production to be released by Buffalo Gal Pictures and the sister's own Snow Angel Films.
The film will be called Arctic Mosque and it will chronicle the over 4000 km odyssey the Mosque took from Winnipeg to Inuvik. It will also offer a revealing portrait of Islamic life in the far north.
