I am so sad to know that the Sandbox team will no longer be creating such a fabulous magazine, but I am so very honored to have been a part of what Sandbox has achieved within Winnipeg, and in Canada! Braden and Jeff proved that young people, with a vision, creativity and determination, can achieve anything they set their minds to.

Sandbox Magazine will be releasing its last issue on Tuesday, February 7th at McNally Robinson Booksellers.
Edited
and published by young upstarts Jeffrey Vallis, editor-in-chief and Braden Alexander creative director, it
was the go-to mag for Winnipeg's hip, young crowd.
Just last year it won "Best New Magazine" at the Western Canadian Magazine Awards.
The
beautifully designed fashion magazine was know for its excellent
photography, featuring such talents as Kat Wilson, Valentin Mittelstet, Cindy Titus, Rejean Brandt, Brittany Alyse, Ryan Wibawa, Izabela Rachwal, Katy Winterflood, and Matthew Kristjan, to name but a few.
So
on that note, we wanted to have Sandbox's
contributors, including art director Vanessa Kunderman, creative director Suzy Bodiroga, arts and culture
editor Brenlee Coates, and Jeffrey and Braden (of course), to tell the
stories behind their favourite shoots for the magazine.
When the final issue is released at McNally Robinson there will be a Q and A with the Sandbox crew February 7 at 8 p.m. in the Prairie Ink restaurant.
Braden joined Ismaila Alfa on The Weekend Morning Show to discuss his favourite issue and the tough decision behind shutting down the magazine.
