How about taking Mom to the closing show of Royal Winnipeg Ballet's final show of the season. It is getting awesome reviews, and it's the last chance to see principal dancer Tara Birtwhistle perform with RBW. That's at the Centennial Concert Hall.
If your mother likes to walk and is interested in history, you could take her on Jane's Walk. It's named after the late urban thinker, writer and activist Jane Jacob's. The walks explore the city and this year there's a tour of Central Park, Transcona and more. NOTE: This option is easy on the budget!
And here's the perfect concert for Mother's Day. This Sunday, the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra is performing with ex-Winnipegger singer Lesley Corne-Wolman in a program called From My Mother's Songbook. The WSO's principal cellist Yuri Hooker also appears with the band. It's at the Winnipeg Art Gallery at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
And Mom, if you are reading this, Happy Mother's Day!
