You made it to the August long weekend, which means three days to cram full of relaxing activities instead of the usual two.
The weather forecast is moderately acceptable and there are lots of options out there...if you haven't already hightailed it out to cottage country.
But if you're in and around the city, here is our definitive list of things you should check out this long weekend.
What: ART - 100 Masters at the WAG
When: Runs through August 18

If you haven't made it over to the WAG to check out 100 Masters, you might want to get on that. Works by Rembrandt van Rijn, Maxfield Parrish, Claude Monet, Pierre-August Renoir, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Andy Warhol, Emily Carr and Winnipeg's own Wanda Koop are on display till the 18th.
And they're even open on the holiday Monday so you really have no excuse to miss this one.
What: FESTIVAL - River City Rumble
River City Rumble is rumbling this weekend.
When: Runs from noon till 2 am on August 3-4
Where: Metropolitan Entertainment Centre
Cost: Weekend Passes: $75/Saturday Day Passes: $40/Sunday Day Passes: $45
It's one of Winnipeg's newest summer festivals and it's all about Rockabilly.
With a mix of local and international acts like The Matadors and Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats, there's also a rooftop Tiki patio, burlesque, retro fashions, you can even get you hair and makeup done and snap a pin-up photo portrait.

Where: In your backyard
Cost: If you have one or can borrow a tent, it's FREE
Get outside, even if it's just pitching a tent in your backyard, pack up the family and relocate out of doors for one night. Winnipeg chefs share their best campfire eats
fresh batteries in the flashlight, dust off your best ghost stories and
cook some gooey treats over the campfire. Leave all your electronic
devices in the house and unearth a deck of cards or classic board game
for some family fun in the great outdoors.
What: FESTIVAL - Icelandic Festival of Manitoba

When: Runs August 2-5
Cost: Range of ticket prices with lots of free events
Even if you can't pronounce "Islendingadagurinn," you're still welcome to channel your inner Viking out at the Icelandic Festival of Manitoba in Gimli this weekend.
There's a midway and rides at Gimli Park, a sandcastle contest, live music, skateboard demo, fireworks, a shot put competition, more live music, crafts and a daily pancake breakfast.
The Winnipeg Beach Bus is even offering service to the Festival if you need a lift.
What: FESTIVAL - Fire & Water Music Festival

Where: Lac du Bonnet Community Centre Grounds
Cost: Weekend passes $60/Friday evening pass $20/ Saturday & Sunday passes $25 each/Kids 12 and under FREE
There are three stages packed with musical acts out at the Fire & Water Music Festival in Lac du Bonnet. With performers like Indicator Indicator, Mariachi Ghost, Matt Epp, The Bros. Landreth, The Perms and a whole lot more.
There's also an art show, a festival of short films, a kids are located in the curling rink and even a mini quilt challenge!
And with the slightly cool-ish temperatures we've been enjoying lately, it might be the perfect time to get your quilt on!
