Hannah Georgas is touring across Canada (Tristan Casey)
Vancouver's Hannah Georgas is a true Canadian musician, embracing the weather by touring across the country in January and February with The Belle Game and Aidan Knight. Maybe her CBC Radio 3 Bucky Award for Hottest Pipes comes in handy in the desperate cold.
Since she's already on the road and headed to Winnipeg, we asked her to tell us what songs are a must-have for any Hannah Georgas road trip. And anyone who picks a classic Cure track is okay in our books.
"Untitled" by Interpol
This is my favourite song by Interpol and is on my show playlist. I really enjoy hearing this song before I hit the stage every night. It's comforting.
"Halo" by Beyonce
I'm totally addicted to this song right now. There's way too much emotion in this song and I mean that in the best way possible. My band members are getting very sick of me playing it all the time.
"Nowhere" by Village
I was recently introduced to this song and have fallen in love. They are a Vancouver band and I have only recently heard of them. The song is so soothing and it makes me think of home. Aaaaa Vancouver.
"Say That" by Toro Y Moi
This is a new favourite of mine. A great song to dance to and my new favourite music video.
"Just Like Heaven" by The Cure
This song is a must for me. It's a classic and it makes me happy every time I hear it.
