Today, the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards
released their full lineup of performers for this year's show. The 2012 Juno winner Murray Porter, along with supergroup Indian City, Donny Parenteau, Shy-Anne Hovorka, rockers Bruthers of Different Muthers, fiddler Wesley Hardisty and world champion hoop dancer and flutist Dallas Arcand will all take the stage this year.
The APCMA winners are voted by the public in online polls. Categories range from male and female entertainer of the year to best rock album to best hand drum and best pow wow albums. The awards are handed out over two nights, Nov. 1 and 2, in Winnipeg. The industry awards are presented on Nov. 1, with the big event happening at the MTS Centre on Nov. 2, complete with a red carpet event.
"This year's lineup truly brings to life what we're trying to showcase with the festival," said Gloria Spence in a news release. Spence is the general manager of Manito Ahbee
, the festival that produces the awards.
