Indian City accepted trophies for Best Pop Song for "Supernation" and Best Rock Song for "Stand". And they're not off to a bad start. Indian City's Supernation is the debut album for the new project by Vince Fontaine of Eagle and Hawk. And it's also up for a Western Canadian Music Award in the Aboriginal Recording of the Year category. Those awards will be handed out on September 30.
Don Amero won the category, Best Country Song for "Right Where I Wanna Be," from his album, The Long Way Home. And Amero has a new album coming out next month, called Heart on My Sleeve.
The awards take place as part of the Indian Summer Festival which attracts close to 70,000 people and is the largest Native American festival on the continent.
