Vince Fontaine leads the supergroup. He says he decided to take on this project because of the incredible pool of talent that exists in the community. "I just felt let's get these folks together, give them a CD to work on, then all of a sudden we have a band and the phone starts ringing for gigs. It's a fun project for sure."
Featured vocals include multi-award winner Don Amero, guest vocalist William Prince and emerging singer songwriter Pamela Davis.
One of the songs is called Stand which Fontaine co-wrote with Don Amero. "Something that is said right off the top are the words 'I saw the world on fire.'...As an indigenous person, that really sums it up for me. It's because the key principles of being an indigenous person to the environment and to the earth. I think we as a people don't want to be left out. We want to be included, and that's all we really want, to stand up together." Supernation gets launched on Thursday August 23 at the West End Cultural Centre.
