Luke & Murray perform at Air Canada Park on June 20 (Craig Armstrong)
They're taking it outside. The music, that is.
The annual Out to Lunch series is now under way. It's your chance to relax with some great made-in-Manitoba music and take advantage of Winnipeg's fleeting summer.
Concerts take place downtown every Wednesday at noon, mostly at Air Canada Park, 355 Portage Ave.
The music series is another initiative of Downtown Biz. The organization aims to encourage people to come downtown...and send out the message the streets are safe.
There's music to please every taste, from country to rock to jazz. On Wednesday June 20 you can catch the country/rock act Two Dollar Pistol.
Other performers on the summertime lineup include Luke & Murray, Leanne Pearson, Salinas Band, The Dead Stringers, Kyla Cederwall and more.
On three Wednesdays beginning August 15, the party turns into a street festival and moves to Edmonton Street between Portage and Graham. Tables and chairs will be set up. The festivals will also offer, in addition to music, an artisan market, sidewalk sales, local business kiosks, prizes and more.
Just don't forget your lunch!
