And a new graphic novel called
Bloody Saturday adds a new twist to the story of Winnipeg General Strike of 1919.
Adam Campbell, a recent graduate of Red River College, completed the novel as a project in the
Creative Communications program. His sister Carly illustrated the book.
Thousands
of strikers marched on Main Street during the strike. The novel creates
a fictional back story for the real life death of Ukrainian immigrant
Mike Sokolowski on June 21st, 1919. Sokolowski was shot and many other
strikers were beaten by police and strike breakers
Adam Campbell says, "There's a lot of mystery surrounding it too so from my perspective I liked the idea that you could start with this really epic
story that doesn't
