Blackstone (APTN)
Season Two of Blackstone, Aboriginal Peoples Television Network
popular no-holds barred drama about the lives of a fictional First
Nation, premieres tonight at 8 p.m. (central).
The show takes an
unflinching look at the power, politics and degradation that can occur
under a corrupt Chief and Council. It is also a show about redemption,
with characters striving to make the Blackstone First Nation a better
place by confronting the poverty and substance abuse that results from
the political perversion.
Behind all this drama is an exceptional soundtrack featuring several great Manitoban performers.
The show's first season was laden with a
number of songs from some local performers including J.C. Campbell's "The Grind," "Bang Bang" by Winnipeg's Most, and "Blind" by
Tracy Bone.
This season you can hear "Forever's a Long Time" by Ernest Monias, the country/rock veteran from Cross Lake, Manitoba, who is featured in the first episode.
