Ari Posner wrote this little ditty called "Teemu" as a tribute to former Jets' team member Teemu Selanne, when he was still playing for the original Winnipeg Jets.
SCENE thought it was well worth reviving it to celebrate Selanne's return!
Ari Posner is a former Winnipegger now living in Toronto. He composes music for jingles, film and TV, including the theme music for the radio series The Age of Persuasion. While Ari's body of work is really quite impressive, I'm sure he would admit that "Teemu" may not have been his finest musical moment, although it is sure fun to listen to now.
The song, penned in 1994, features some keys that will make you think Teemu played here in the early 80's while its hook, which goes "Temmu Selanne. Selaaaannnnnnnne," is actually quite catchy.
