Unusual name, F-Holes, don't you think? Just so you know, an F hole is found on all instruments of the violin family, from double basses to violins. Even some guitars. It's the opening shaped like the letter 'F' that allows the sound to escape.
In their early days, the members of the F-Holes noticed that many of the instruments they played had F holes and thought it would make an interesting name.
The F-Holes began their musical odyssey in 2004 and include Eric Lemoine, Patrick Alexandre Leclerc, James McKee, Evan Friesen and Blake Thomson. Their music has a definite retro feel to it and during a show you'll hear hints of dixieland jazz, alt-pop and bluegrass, all at the same time.
In their early days, they were the house band at the Standard on Sherbrook Street and honed their stage presence there.
This popular bluegrass roots band just released their latest CD Angel In The Corner. The band is currently on a tour that will take them through Western Canada.
