Manitoba country music artist Jerry Sereda is in the running to play the Canadian Country Music Awards FanFest stage in Hamilton. But the catch is he needs your help to get there.
The CCMAs created a contest to have one slot on the FanFest concert to be programmed by the fans. And that's where you come in. For Jerry to secure that last spot he needs you to "Like" his page.
Jerry began writing songs in 2003 and has a style of writing that combines the descriptive storytelling of classic country with the upbeat rhythms of modern country music. In 2007, Jerry placed 2nd in the Manito Ahbee StarCatcher talent contest, and in 2008 he made it to the top 100 of Canadian Idol. Jerry's first album Campground Cowboy spawned two number one hits on the National Aboriginal Music Countdown.
The CCMA FanFest is one of several events that take place during Country Music Week, September 9 to 12. This annual event brings together industry-types and fans for educational seminars, networking opportunities and non-stop music.
Country Music Week culminates with the live broadcast of the Canadian Country Music Awards on Monday, September 12.
