Billy Joe Green's new music video for his very catchy tune Honey Girl, not only took him back to his musical roots, but took his son Jesse Green along for the ride.
Along Main Street's strip of gritty hotels is where Billy Joe got his start back in the 1970s. And it's where he returned to shoot his first-ever music video. The video has a smoke-filled bar feel to it, thanks to his son Jesse who produced and shot it through his production company StrongFront A/V Productions.
"Working with Billy Joe Green was an honour, especially shooting his first music video," says Jesse, who calls his dad by his first name.
"Even though he is one of the most well-known blues musicians in Canada, I'm hoping that Billy Joe will get the recognition he deserves from this video. I'd like to see his video make it to the mainstream TV music channels like CMT and Much Music."
This is also a first for Jesse, who after working in the video business for two decades is finally starting to do his own creative work.
We have a sneak preview of it for you. And if you want to see the entire video and enjoy some good old blues and rock music...Billy Joe will be playing the Pyramid Cabaret this weekend, along with Lost Priority, Primitive and Brothers of Stone.
