Radio 3 Featured Artist of the Week: "Mise en Scene"

The Gimli based band Mise en Scene inspired one fan to record and produce their first recording. Their music is fresh, catchy and they gather new fans everytime they perform.

The core of the band is made up of a trio of young women, including Stefanie Johnson who is one of the key singers and songwriters and plays guitar. Kenah Olson, a classically trained pianist and trombonist with jazz leanings and Jodi Dunlop who plays drums.
Also in the group is Marco Fiori on bass.

Mise en Scene was performing in Gimli when Ron Vermeulen, a very well respected recording engineer, studio designer and producer happened to hear them. He's worked with the likes of Spirit of the West, Loverboy and D.O.A. At one point in his career he began to design recording studios for Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance and kd Lang among others. Some years back, Ron retired and he and his wife moved to Gimli, where they operate the Mermaid's Kiss Art Gallery..........and he runs a recording studio as well.  He worked with the group to develop their songs and produced their debut EP Late Night Triple Feature.

Mise en Scene launched Late Night Triple Feature at the Academy and here's one of the songs they performed that night.
