Chris Thorburn often finds himself in the middle of things. (Trevor Hagan/CP)
He's six foot three, 230 pounds and may be the Winnipeg Jet most likely to drop
the gloves on the ice, but right winger Chris Thorburn isn't quite as
aggressive with his musical choices.
To get to known #22 a little better, SCENE asked the Sault Ste. Marie native to share a few of the tunes that pop up on his Playlist:
What is the first album you remember buying? Dookie by Green Day.
Where did you buy it?
North Bay, Ontario (can't remember the store).
What music are you most likely to listen to when you're by yourself in your car? fun., Pink, anything like pop rock, hip hop, country. I like a wide range of genres.
What's on the stereo when you're hanging out with your son? He likes the fun. song "Carry On", my wife got him into it. He loves the high pitched vocals. Other than that, Sesame Street tunes.
What song's playing on your headphones before practice? "Carry On" by fun.. I take a lot of heat for it to be quite honest, but I enjoy it. It's a
good morning song before pregame skate. You need different songs for
different moods. For morning skate I like softer music.
What's playing right before you hit the ice for a game? "I Love It" by Icona Pop.
It has a good beat to it, and is enjoyable to listen to before a game.
What's your musical guilty pleasure? "Brokenhearted" by Karmin.
I brought that song into the dressing room last year, and [teammates]
gave me a hard time. But it's decent. I get pumped up to it. You've got
to listen to it like three times.
