He likes mosaic, he likes music, he's DJ Hunnicutt!

One of Winnipeg's favourite DJs, DJ Hunnicutt, is currently touring Europe with local improv superstars CRUMBS. But before he hopped on the plane, SCENE wrestled his iPod out of his hands to take a look at his five most recently played tracks.
Cause don't you want to know what a DJ is really listening to?
"On and On" by The Sea and Cake
The lead-off track from the new album by one of my favourite bands. I should mention that this record isn't even out yet. Whoops. I got it through legitimate means, I promise.
"A Milli Vanilli" by Shad
Shad dropped this 'lil EP on his bandcamp page back in July but I didn't notice it until the hilarious, barely-one minute video for this song started making the Internet rounds. So many awesome late '80s-early '90s references.
"Wannabe" (Guido Re-edit) by Spice Girls
Ha ha! I have an excuse! I was DJing a '90s party. And this particular re-edit (rearranging a song by using the original studio multi-tracks) is really tastefully done by French producer Guido Minisky. I'm cool, I swear!
"Caught Me Thinkin" by Bahamas
The highlight of this summer's Winnipeg Folk Festival for me. I had heard Bahamas once or twice on the radio, and I knew that ex-Winnipegger Jason Tait played drums in the group. But not until I saw them play live did it really hit me. Now I'm a big fan.
"Charly Wingate" by Ryan Hemsworth
More Canadian stuff! Boy, CBC, you really picked the right time to ask me this question! I had heard and liked Ryan Hemsworth's remixes of Frank Ocean and Future, but when I heard this song, and saw the gorgeous video that goes with it, I knew this kid was capable of making some pretty cool, sophisticated stuff.
