"Wonderfully Amusing"’s title, though painfully generic, is also reasonably accurate.
In Wonderfully Amusing
, Chris Funk, magician, and Matt Falk, comedian, swagger their way through an hour of Abbott and Costello-esque banter routines and head-scratching magic tricks like the pros that their program entry claims they are.
I'm not much of a magic aficionado, but if I was, Funk's roster of "how did he know that?" and "how did that get there?" illusions would have had me up all night trying to puzzle my way through the seeming impossibilities--there are some real mind blowers here.
Matt Falk keeps things light with effortlessly funny banter (there's a little magic to that, too) and a willingness to get as silly as required to keep the audience's attention focused on him when necessary.
Both are eminently capable performers and overall, it's an accessible and interactive evening of entertainment that the whole family can enjoy, but that wouldn't be out of place with the sounds of slot machines and clinking cocktail glasses in the background.
If I was being really specific, I might try to modify it to Intriguingly Funny, but that's just the skeptic in me--in the end, Wonderfully Amusing
's title, though painfully generic, is also reasonably accurate.
