This isn’t comedy that will change (or even challenge) your life, your political affiliations, or your understanding of human nature. And if some of it’s a little familiar, it’s still fun.
Alexa Fitzpatrick is a smart woman with an endocrinology degree, but is also a self-professed ski bum, a party girl and a bartender in shady dives and high end sushi joints.
This one-woman show is a stand-up comedy set that explores rude customers, sleeping with your co-workers, poor choices, and the cost of cocaine in Colorado.
Fitzpatrick is likeable and smart, and her material is accessible, yet somehow the show never quite achieves lift-off. The set is marred by her unsteady pacing; when she relaxes into her stories they achieve a different kind of energy, but she seems to not infrequently get a little lost, lose her place and falter. Her observations and insights aren't especially insightful, but they're fun and relatable, especially for a younger crowd.
This isn't comedy that will change (or even challenge) your life, your political affiliations, or your understanding of human nature. And if some of it's a little familiar, it's still fun. Especially if you've ever slung beer or waitressed for tips, or if you're a fundamentally nice girl who's just not quite ready to give it up and settle down, this show might speak to you.
