If you're looking for good, clean fun at the Fringe for you and your kids, the Rascals won't disappoint.
Quick! Name one thing you should bring to the Fringe.
How about... bacon? That's what a little boy in the audience shouted to the improv comedy troupe Crosseyed Rascals when they asked the question at their first Fringe show of the year.
The crowd was made up mostly of kids and their parents, and the junior audience members practically stole the show with offbeat answers to questions the group asked to launch its improv games.
The four Rascals, two women and two men, more or less held their own with improvised sketches on the theme of reality TV. They lampooned Master Chef
, Big Brother
, Pawn Stars
and other shows, getting decent, family-friendly laughs from their fans. Audience members grinned the whole time.
If you're looking for good, clean fun at the Fringe for you and your kids, the Rascals won't disappoint. But if you like your improv comedy to have a bit more bite, you better look elsewhere -- unless you go to the Rascals' late-night show next Friday. The troupe promises to let loose for that one, so it's restricted to Fringers 16 and over.
