Sounds absurd? Yes, it is. Hilariously so.
Vancouver comedians Peter Carlone and Chris Wilson perform their own version of Being John Malkovich
in their latest Fringe offering. With the help of a magic housecoat, they enter a portal through Chris' ear to descend deep into his innards for an epic battle against his hypochondriac mind to secure the safety and health of his liver.
Sounds absurd? Yes, it is. Hilariously so. Though the show is slow to gain momentum, once it did at the performance I saw, it had the entire audience doubled over with laughter. It's comedy that brings to mind the comedic stylings of Monty Python.
As performers, Peter and Chris throw themselves into their various characters with complete gusto, and seem to relish and enjoy their time on stage as much as the audience does.
For fans of zany comedy, this is a must-see.
