A gorgeous and powerful production with a mesmerizing pulse.

This gorgeous and powerful production melds West Coast Aboriginal culture and design with modern multimedia elements, and a script with a mesmerizing pulse.
Wings of Darkness is the re-telling of the legend of Bat (Leith Clark) whose scheming puts the Legged, led by Human (Shawn Kowalke) in battle with the Winged, led by Eagle (Ryan Black). Bat, who has wings but also fur, is Legged and Winged, but is banished from both camps.
The combat scene (courtesy fight director John Yim) is an absolute treat, the set design and masks (by Louis Ogemah) are breathtaking, and the cast is rock solid.
There is so much depth in Wings of Darkness that at times it can be difficult to follow, but it's more than worth the effort. This production asks questions about who we are, how we got here, and if we can change. Writer/director Columpa C. Bobb and her all-star cast will leave you considering these same questions about our own community.
