Company: Pi: The Physical Comedy Troupe, San Francisco, CA
Venue: Venue #4 - Alloway Hall (Manitoba Museum)
Pi prove the point that sometimes the best reason to put on a show is just to have fun with a highly entertaining variety hour of breezy physical gags, pleasingly wink-filled sketches, and a few wow-inducing juggling routines.
Pi: The Physical Comedy Troupe are a foursome of charming and multitalented neo-vaudevillians from San Francisco who will literally climb over one another (not to mention lock each other in boxes) to entertain you. Don't worry - this is a good thing.
A very good thing, if the frequent applause and hoots of encouragement from the crowd at the opening performance are to be taken as any indication.
Pi prove the point that sometimes the best reason to put on a show is just to have fun during an infectiously entertaining variety hour filled with breezy physical gags, pleasingly wink-filled sketches, and a few wow-inducing juggling routines.
It's an easy show to watch, and one of the performers even admits (coyly) that it's easy to do, but he's pulling our leg. To clown with the precision and alacrity that Pi demonstrate takes not only dedication and talent, but countless hours of practice in performance.
Pi aren't just charming and (sorry Pi, but I have to say it) cute, they're serious clowns. And seriously funny. Bring the kids, bring grandpa, bring anyone. Make this lovable Californian troupe's trip north worthwhile - you won't regret it.
