I asked my three-year-old daughter what she thought of this show and she said, "It was nice." She's a smart girl and exactly right.
What does "nice" mean? Greg Woods tells a couple of parables in the show which become recurring talking points as he's pulling endless brightly coloured silk scarves out of thin air or sticking swords into his assistant. Both the parables are about how being kind to one another makes the world a more beautiful place.
But Greg Woods isn't just nice - he's a pro. His patter is effortless, his magic is well-honed, and he's funny. My daughter was hooked from the moment he began his first trick - which involves him conjuring his assistant Jocelyn out of a big coloured cube.
We even brought our daughter's baby brother; babes in arms are welcome at this show, which is helpful if you're trying to experience the Fringe as a family.
For five bucks, you can't really argue with this chance to escape the humidex and take a 45-minute air-conditioned vacation with the kids.
