Last week, Information Radio
launched a search for Winnipeg's Best Burger. Thanks to your votes, a master list was whittled down to five finalists:

To help narrow down the top five and name an ultimate winner, we brought in some hamburger heavyweights for our judging panel.
Doug Speirs, humour columnist for the Winnipeg Free Press
, Tim Turner,
founding member of Burger Club Winnipeg and Robin Summerfield, award-winning travel and food writer with SCENE
and Peg City Grub all gathered in the studio to sink their teeth into the top contenders.
The rules were decreed and the hungry experts got down to the hard job of tasting -- blindfolded of course. Each of the five burger finalists were rated on sensory experience, bun to burger ratio, flavour, assembly, and the all-important patty.
"It's like picking the cutest baby or the most beautiful super-model," Speirs joked.
Competition was close, but after much chewing, joking and wiping of fingers, a winner was crowned. Edging out the other entries: Dairi-Wip Drive-In.
"Wow, that is really beefy. That is a brawny, brawny burger," Summerfield said. "It just screams beef. Oh my god, that's good."
