Winning a contest is always better than a lit cigarette in the eye, I say - not that I've had a lot of lit cigarettes in the eye, but then I haven't won a lot of contests either. It was good to find my book in such fine company, both long list and short-listwise.

On
Friday, September 21, four passionate book lovers debated four Manitoba
books. Alix Sobler, Jonathan Ball, Rosanna Deerchild and Mike Green were part of a live recording for THIN AIR 2012
at the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre. The
debate was hosted by CBC's Ismaila Alfa and excerpts were
broadcast on the Weekend Morning Show on Sunday September 23.
The winner is C.C.Benison for his first in a cozy new whodunit series featuring vicar Tom "Father" Christmas. True to form, C.C.Benison's reaction was witty while appreciative.
