Bookmarked: Alan Greyeyes recommends "Hockey Dad" by Bob McKenzie

Alan Greyeyes is a member of the Peguis First Nation. He works at Manitoba Music as the Aboriginal Music Program Coordinator and volunteers his time as chairperson for Aboriginal Music Manitoba and vice-chairperson for the Manito Ahbee Festival.

In his spare time he likes to hang out with his three kids Nakodan, Ella and Ava.

As a hockey dad, we weren't surprised at what was on his reading pile:

I'm reading Hockey Dad: True Confessions of a (Crazy) Hockey Parent by Bob McKenzie right now.

I like it because McKenzie talks about his experience raising two competitive hockey players in Ontario, which is something I can relate to since I have an 11-year-old son in hockey right now.

McKenzie also talks about his regrets, like pushing his sons too hard or complaining about other kids on their teams, and these are things I now know to avoid.

I'm half way through the book and I look forward to the stories about elite level tournaments, the OHL draft, and NHL scouting.
