HBO Canada's Less Than Kind premieres season three on Sunday January 15.

This half-hour Canadian comedy series begins with dramatic change when the family loses its patriarch Sam Blecher, leaving the family reeling as they struggle forward in a world without him.  

Edmonton actress Wendel Meldrum plays the role of Blecher's wife, Anne.  Anne tries to adapt to her new roles as both a widow and a business partner to her mercurial sister. Familiar weaknesses rear their heads early as she struggles with the magnitude of her loss.   
Throughout, the Blecher family must wade through a maelstrom of infidelity, financial ruin, and high school wrestlers, as they struggle to heal their home.

SCENE wanted to know what prairie girl Wendel Meldrum (Anne Blecher) from the Less Than Kind cast was reading on the set.

I am reading The Art of Learning by Josh Waitzkin for the second time.  He was a chess grand master and champion as a child and became  world champion of the martial form of Tai Chi Chuan as an adult. He has amazing insights into learning which interests me as I am always learning something new in the my work.  I really enjoy applying his ideas. 

'Growth comes at the point of resistance' is an example of a Joel Waitzkin nugget. It's a great read through his journey of high pressure performance.
