Grandma goes online dating in brand new book by Winnipeg author

Miriam Kalb (pen name K.C. Konrad) is the author of Lead Me Not Into Temptation: I Can Find It Myself: Grandma Goes Online.  The book is a non-fiction narrative, a log of her cyber journey as an older woman seeking companionship.

This is Kalb's first published book.  In her words: "My adult years up to this point, have been spent as a quiet, responsible wife, mother, schoolteacher, artist and musician...Now it seems this writer has popped out of nowhere."

In her book, Miriam refers to herself as Kayla. SCENE asked Kayla to give us five online dating tips:

• If you must exaggerate your age, do it within reason; you will likely have to meet someone face to face.
• Don't believe all that's written in an online profile; allow for wishful thinking.
• Never laugh at someone's dreams; people who don't have them are living empty lives.
• Look for someone you like to talk to; conversation will be more important than passion the older you get.
• When you have an open mind, a willing heart, and an adventurous spirit, there is no telling what could be in store for you, or what you might learn.
