Bookmarked: John Sauder recommends "A Salty Piece of Land"

 

John Sauder takes the weather seriously.  As Meteorologist for CBC News Winnipeg he supplies daily comprehensive weather reports.  John's love of all things weather started when he was the young son of a fighter pilot. 

SCENE wants to know what Manitoban personalities are reading.  We asked John Sauder which book stands out for him as being a good read, something to 'bookmark'.  He told us about A Salty Piece of Land by Jimmy Buffet. 

 

I'm not really a reader of novels. The reason... I always seem to be getting caught up on military magazines sent from the chief of air staff or golf magazines or sailing magazines. The last book I read was a couple of years ago and I loved it. Not a hard read at all.... very relaxing. A Salty Piece of Land  by Jimmy Buffet. I could not stop reading it because it really sent me to another place. It was a great escape from the snowy season onto a sailboat with some really interesting characters.
