Former Weekend Morning Show Host Ron Robinson browses books for Winnipeg's Cultural Secrets (Jim Agapito)
Former Weekend Morning Show host, Ron Robinson, is a book junkie. He took the "Winnipeg's Cultural Secrets" crew to Aqua books to show us that it's much more than just books...it's an entire culture.
Bookstores go'ers have their own culture. It's almost ritualisic. As a former bookseller and co-founder of McNally Robinson's, Ron says it's about sitting down, enjoying a cup of coffee and reading for hours on end. It's about discovering rare to out-of-print books, re-discovering old time favourites and/or finding those rare editions books you wish you had. It's about finding the arts and crafts events you'll only find at Winnipeg bookstores.
It's cool to find mothers knitting interesting touques sitting next to the punk-rock-tough girl making homemade handbags. It's almost like books and underground cultural go hand-in-hand.
Thanks for showing us, Ron!
