In the spirit of Canada Reads, Canada's biggest battle of the books, CBC Manitoba is proud to present Manitoba Reads, in partnership with McNally Robinson Booksellers and the Winnipeg International Writers Festival.

The long list of sixteen books by Manitoba authors is up, and YOU can cast your vote for the book that you think is the must-read book for Manitobans this year.
The eight books with the most votes will advance to the next round. The four Manitoba Reads panelists will select the book they want to champion from that list of eight.
Tune into CBC Radio One's Weekend Morning Show throughout September to hear each panelist's defense of their book.
On September 24, as the finale of the THIN AIR 2011, the panelists will defend their choices in front of a live audience. That night the winning book will be crowned the must-read for Manitobans. The debate will air again the next morning on the Weekend Morning Show.
You can vote once a day for your favorite book. Voting is now closed.
All contest details for Manitoba Reads will be outlined on Monday, July 11
