Sitting in Winnipeg's growing northwest quadrant, Meadows West Elementary is the poster school for the city's rapidly changing population. There are students such as the Tutkalukes pictured below whose heritage is Ukranian. They will go to a school where the majority of students trace their roots elsewhere, to the Philippines and other parts of Southeast Asia. Some families have been here for one or two generations; others have just arrived in Canada and face numerous social, cultural and linguistic challenges. The school's job is the same for all: To get them excited about learning.
From the chaotic rush out the door to the first day nerves about what lies ahead, join the students of Meadows West as they head back to school. On Information Radio with Terry and Marcy.
Listen on Information Radio, Wednesday-Friday from 5:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
