Voters in two Manitoba ridings, Brandon-Souris and Provencher, are going to the polls on Nov. 25 to elect new members of Parliament.

Both considered to be longtime Conservative ridings, they are currently vacant following the resignations of backbencher Merv Tweed and former cabinet minister Vic Toews, respectively.

But the Liberals and NDP are hoping that Conservative controversies like the Senate expense scandal will give them an advantage in those byelection races, especially in Brandon-Souris.
