Festival du Voyageur

From February 15 to 24, 2013, Manitoba becomes one big party, as tens of thousands gather for the Festival du Voyageur. The Festival, the biggest winter carnival in Western Canada and also affectionately known as "The World's Largest Kitchen Party," celebrates the joys of wintertime, music and culture.

 

CBC Radio-Canada has put together an array of programming to ensure you have a front-row seat for all the key moments.

PREMIER SOIR AU FESTIVAL

 

Discover the Festival du Voyageur at its best on Friday, February 15, at 7:30 p.m., with this broadcast from Voyageur Park in St. Boniface, Manitoba. To put you in the spirit of the fest from the get-go, watch PREMIER SOIR AU FESTIVAL. Radio-Canada hosts, Geneviève Murchison and Patricia Bitu-Tshikudi, will be live from Voyageur Park, site of the opening festivities and performances

Join CBC Radio-Canada for special concert collaborations with POUR UN SOIR SEULEMENT at the Franco ManitobaCultural Centre (CCFM).

POUR UN SOIR SEULEMENT is a TV series that features surprising musical team-ups in an intimate setting. Come and experience the excitement as each show is recorded live. The guests this year include Lisa Leblanc, Marie-Pier Arthur, Samian, Cold Specks, Harry Manx, Bernard Adamus, Serena Ryder, Boogat, Daniel Boucher and Julien Sagot to name a few. Episodes will be broadcast on Télévision de Radio-Canada in winter 2013-14 and on ARTV in August 2013. Admission is free, but a pass is required for entry based on first come basis. Passes are available for pick up at Radio-Canada (CKSB,607 Langevin Street, Saint-Boniface).
