SHOES, MEDICINES AND FRISBEES

Ultimate frisbee in Africa? Stephanie Dotto collects and sends 1200 pairs of shoes to a community in Malawi. When she's invited to visit the village she also brings $7000 worth of medical supplies - and dozens of Frisbees...

Stephanie Dotto might be single-handedly responsible for bringing Ultimate frisbee to Africa.

Tired of seeing poor African children on TV always without shoes, Stephanie and her friend Jen went to local elementary schools collecting gently used footwear - 1200 pairs!

But how do you get 1200 pairs of shoes to Malawi?

Well, you send them with a missionary nun, of course. And when the nun invites you to visit, don't go to Africa empty handed. Raise enough money to also take $7000 worth of medical supplies and dozens of Frisbees.

While there, try not to let your dad trade your hand in marriage for 10 cows - and teach the community to play Ultimate frisbee...
