Novelist Lawrence Hill - The Book of Negroes

LaurenceHillKarenMair2.jpgYou may have heard that Stratford officially dedicated one of its streets - Shepard Drive - to honour David and Keisha Shephard - black settlers to pei in the 1700's. Their descendants account for over half of PEI's black community today. Novelist Lawrence Hill - who wrote The Book of Negroes - took part in that event and will be giving a talk this evening. He stopped by the Mainstreet studio.
