Bedford MacDonald House

P.E.I.'s only homeless shelter for men has reopened. The provincial government provided an early Christmas gift to Bedford MacDonald House. A one-time donation of 20-thousand dollars to help reopen the shelter since closing in June. And a group of volunteers from several local churches gathered donations, cleaned and decorated. Karen Mair stopped by to speak with one of those volunteers Pastor Scott MacIsaac.

Arthritis Society

Helping Islanders living with arthritis - over 20-thousand people on PEI have some form of the disease. We'll hear about projects aimed at raising money for services and research.

Sarah Drew is the Community Development Co-ordinator with the PEI Division of The Arthritis Society. And Kelly Hollett will be traveling to Honolulu later this week. They spoke with Karen Mair.
