Pierscape 2014 New Artist Profile

Pierscape is a week-long Arts Festival in Nova Scotia that features exhibits by Cape Breton Artists and Artisans; it's a celebration of music, stories and poems. One of this years new artists is sketch artist Kimberley Wells of Sydney Forks.

ECBC Investigation Report

MP Rodger Cuzner

The Public Sector Integrity Commissioner, Mario Dion, will table a Case Report with the Speakers of the House of Commons and the Senate of Canada on tomorrow. The Case Report deals with findings following an investigation of wrongdoing by the CEO of Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation.

The Report will be considered public once it is tabled at the start of the sitting day of the House of Commons at 10 a.m. but  MP Rodger Cuzner has received a letter from the Commisioner which outlines the findings.

Afghanistan Vet Day

Today is the National Day of Honour for Afghanistan Veterans. It's meant to be a time for Canadians to mark the end of Canada's efforts in Afghanistan and pay tribute to members and families of Canada's Armed Forces.

The day started with as a 21-gun salute echoed over Parliament Hill as part of a ceremony to pay respects to the veterans and the dead of the long Afghanistan war got underway.

Brigadier General Nicolas Eldaoud stopped into the station to talk about the day with host Wendy Bergfeldt.
