Halloween Fire Safety
Fire Service Instructor Stephen MacVicar
Posted by Robert Doublett
Fire fighters had purchased a few Halloween costumes at local stores and earlier this afternoon, they tried to set them on fire.It wasn't hard.
The Fire Service has learned that well over half the costumes being sold locally, are flammable.
As a result, they've issued a fire safety alert to warn people about the dangers.
Today's event was put on by Fire Service Instructor Stephen MacVicar, with the help of Scotchtown fire fighter Jennifer MacKinnon.
Here's part of that demonstration.

John McDermott can recall the precise moment when he realized that giving up his day job and making singing his full-time career had been the right decision. That moment came at 8 pm on October 5th, 1993 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax as he walked on stage to a full house and a thunderous East Coast welcome. It was his first concert with his own band, and he was received with such wild encore-inducing enthusiasm the concert turned into a 4 hour marathon. John was hooked!
