Petter Northug beat Giorgio di Centa in a sprint Saturday to win the men's 20-kilometre pursuit race at the cross-country World Cup finals.
Northug went past his Italian rival coming into the ski stadium and pulled away with yet another of his trademark sprint finishes. The Norwegian triple world champion finished in 57 minutes 32.2 seconds while Di Centa was 2.6 seconds back.
Daniel Rickardsson of Sweden was third, 10.2 seconds behind.
Alex Harvey, of St-Ferreol-les-Neiges, Que., finished 13th in 58:04.2 just ahead of Ivan Babikov, of Canmore, Alta., who was 14th in 58:04.4.
Earlier, triple Olympic champion Marit Bjoergen dominated her rivals once again to win the women's 10-kilometre pursuit ahead of Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland.
Perianne Jones of Almonte, Ont., was the lone Canadian in the field, finishing 43rd in 36:00.3.
The cross-country World Cup ends with men's and women's handicap races on Sunday.
