Austrian skier Max Franz says he will be out for up to three weeks because of head injuries he sustained in a crash at Saturday's World Cup super-G in Beaver Creek, Colo.

Franz flew back to Austria on Tuesday and told national radio station Oe3 that he's "looking forward to getting some rest at home."

"These were some mad days. The headaches have lessened."

Franz was hospitalized with a concussion, broken nose and cuts on his face after he hit a gate and lost balance before slamming his head on the slope and briefly losing consciousness.

Franz says he remembers "everything up to the crash, but after that, I am missing a few hours."
